Here is a corporate video that I was commissioned to produce for Leicestershire-based inbound tour operator, Go West.
Go West arrange tours in the UK and Europe for travel agents, on behalf of companies and individuals from all over the World. My brief was to produce a video that would be used as a sales aid in presentations to Go West’s clients. It’s aim was to highlight the professionalism and friendliness of the customer-facing staff who arrange the tours as well as giving a flavour of the vast range of destinations catered for. I normally advise that business videos should be no longer than 3 minutes if they are to be used on websites, however, as the main use of this video is in presentations, it was acceptable for it to run for longer.
Organisation was the key to producing this video as I had so much content to work with. Go West supplied me with still photos of lots of their destinations. These had to be animated in time to appropriate music with zooming and panning to bring them to life and each one had to be captioned. They also supplied me with some video clips that filmed themselves at a staff meeting and away day in Edinburgh. I filmed a staff meeting and away day at Warwick Castle as well as the intro and outro of the managing director talking to camera. I then filmed a tour group with their guide on a trip to the Tower of London, which helped to set the scene at the start of the video. Finally, I recorded the audio voiceover with the managing director and then it was back to the office for many hours of editing. They also supplied me with lots of written customer testimonials that they wanted including in the film and I also had to create several graphics from lots of logos of their affiliate companies as well as main title graphics of Go West’s logo.
Although it took a lot of planning, filming, organisation and editing, Go West were very pleased with their video which shows their business in an excellent light and should prove to be a really useful sales aid for many years to come.
