Producing good Corporate Editorial Photography and Business Portraits is something that requires a special eye for detail. My press photography background has set me up perfectly for this type of work as much of its people-based. I have learned that charming people into doing things for the camera that they wouldn’t normally do gets the best results. I love photographing people. Even though some of the things I have to photograph people doing what may seem fairly boring, the mark of a good photographer is one who can get a visually interesting picture out of a mundane subject. There are great pictures to be had everywhere from call-centres to warehouses, if you know what you are looking for.
I enjoy interacting with people. It never ceases to amaze me what I can get people to do when I have a camera in my hand! I often have to take photographs to fit specific shapes or to leave specific areas blank to allow for cover lines etc. Again, my extensive experience is invaluable when clients have very exacting requirements. I like to understand the brief first and then take stunning photographs to match that requirement.
My business portraits have always been popular. There will always be a need to have a great corporate portrait if you want to portray your business and your staff as professionals to be taken seriously. After all, how many times have you seen a really dreadful portrait of someone on LinkedIn. This usually means that they are instantly discounted as not being serious about their business. First impressions really do count and you never get a second chance to make a great first impression.
Studio-lit business portraits with bright white backgrounds are very popular these days. They look modern and fresh and they can easily be used on business cards and websites too. I can bring my portable studio to your office for minimal disruption for your staff. Other background colours can be used if white is not for you. Environmental portraiture is currently very popular too. This is where people are photographed in their working environment to either show what they are doing or just as head and shoulders shots, putting the background out of focus (which still gives a hint of their working environment).
